Prescott, what a great weekend! Thanks to everyone who made it possible, especially the people who run the place, the Bugatti owners club, for letting us greasy hooligans play on their nice tar-mac!

chopsnbobbers!

The chopsnbobbers web site is looking slightly more healthy after a thorough sorting out by someone who knows what they are doing (Rob Wells, cheers mate!). Hopefully I'll be able to get to work on it now and post up some new stuff soon.
Matts 100e Escort project took another leap forward last week when him & Pete shoved the engine in place and wheeled it outside for the first time. Lookin' Good! J.P.

Start 'em young!

The next time someone asks Ellie how fast her Topolino 'Tot rod' goes she can tell them 40.5mph in 16.1 seconds (1/8th mile). Watch out Pete, she might get ideas of driving something bigger!

Monday, 28 June 2010

Well done Nifty & Pete, the Coupe got a best E/T of 16.8 and was winner of the Flathead Meltdown at the Nostalgia Nationals! What a brilliant weekend. J.P.

Pete & Nifty heads up racing!

Phew, what a scorcher!! Blazing sunshine, sticky track & loads of cool cars means the Nostalgia Nationals 2010 are as good as ever.
The times in the pic was their first run on Saturday, Pete later drove Nifty's Coupe to a 17.08, so hopefully tomorrow (Sunday) they'll break into the sixteens. Yay! J.P.

Thursday, 24 June 2010

Nostalgia Nationals this weekend.
Now we'll see how the Coupe really goes!

Sunday, 20 June 2010

What do you get if you cross a 100e Escort body, a Ford 302 and a pair of slot mags???

Sunday, 13 June 2010

You can tell a happy Hot Rodder by the flies in his teeth!

Had a ride in Nifty's Coupe today & she's a real flyer. Sounds awesome too! J.P.

Outsiders go MotoX

Nathan and myself have been on a reliability weekend way up north (for us anyway) to the Penines on the Lancs/yorks boarder. Odgie and his other half Miss P organised the shin dig and made us welcome. As well as doing the usual drive around the lanes and through fords and over steep hills and down dales we stopped at a steam museum and saw one huge mother of a 600hp steam engine that powered 1200 looms. Awsome.
But as it happens the field we were camping in was not only on the side of a bloody great big hill and as windy as f**k it also had a motoX track on it. We had hot rods and a track, just gotta do it ain't ya.

more art

And while we're on the arty stuff, big ups to Scarlett for the amazing artwork she's done for the cover of the current edition of DicE. Best cover so far, well done Scarlett. Check out her stuff www.scarlettrickard.co.uk. and sorry for the bad photos taken of the mag.

Oooo! Yummy! Arty!

Nathan comissioned this great piece of art for my birthday and for helping with his coupe. I have to say I wasn't expecting anything as good as this. Thanks Nath.

Good friday but crap weather

We made it to Wheels Day but felt disappointed, the weather was bad enough but personally the showfield didn't hold much interest for me. So we headed over to Namco in Farnborough to see Billy's setup. Not one PT Cruiser or Mk2 Cortina in sight!!

Then we headed out to visit Mile's shop Jackhammer and his new premises, extremely cool hotrod parts shop indeed. Steaming mugs of tea and coffee flowing freely and a great opportunity to have a gander at the superb collection of hot rod related magazines and books that Mile's sells and obviously all the shiney car parts too. The shop is also home to an altered wheelbased '55 Chevy in full race trim, ace!!It was all I could do to not spend all my cash on dress up parts for the Flathead, I did however buy myself a steering shaft to fit my '40 Ford steering wheel and the latest issue of Dice (more about that later)

Latest from the workshop, the coupe is now equipped with Pete's spare flathead engine and Toyota box just to allow us to continue building the car ready for the arrival of the Royal Kustom tuned motor. Sorry no photo updates yet so in the meantime I'm going to post some of my favourites to keep you entertained mainly because I'm shit at telling jokes....Nath

And the work goes on.......
The axle for Nathans coupe now has a genuine, WORKING quick change diff courtesy of Mr Jim Turnbull (no look alike diff covers here, matey!) and Pete's Roadster now sports a spiffing pair of curved Ally top hoses. Nice. J.P.
